Beautiful sunsets in and around Barnstaple
Here at Ducard, we love a sunrise or sunset photo. We are lucky enough to be located in one of the most beautiful regions of the country and we make sure all of our followers know it. Next time you look out your window and see a beautiful sky lit up with vibrant colour, rest assured a Ducard employee is not far away eagerly snapping their next Insta shot.
Here are a few valiant efforts by current employees:
These efforts by Annie show the award-winning beach in Woolacombe in all its glory, kindly modelled by her two dogs Brennan and Jumanji. The second sunset snap is across the rolling landscapes of Exmoor, near where she lives in the middle of nowhere.
This lovely capture of sheep grazing in front of the beautiful setting of Instow was provided by Lewis. The perfect moment to reflect the beautiful settings we take for granted here in North Devon, although the sheep don’t seem too keen on him, rumour has it he was baa’d from the field.
Mikey was able to illustrate the beautiful Barnstaple skyline at sunset, more minimal than that of New York or San Diego but you could argue it is just as beautiful, if not more. The second snap marks the end of a sunny day at Saunton golf course and if you squint, the clouds make a cartoon face….kind of.
Monica has unparalleled views from her flat in Barnstaple. The skies seem to form stripes and the vivid orange is a sight to behold. We feel that the different shades of roof tiles only contribute to the depth of the image, providing an array of layers of meaning. What do the roof tiles mean to you?
Shannon is somewhat of a local celebrity after reaching the dizzy heights of 150 likes on Facebook with her picture of the river Taw. Self-confessed bridge enthusiast Shannon has managed to capture the ultimate juxtaposition of Barnstaple, featuring bridges old and new. She eagerly awaits a new bridge to be built in the area to complete her collection.
Tillie takes pride in her sunset beach shot, as she managed to get it at exactly halfway. She also brings a bit of culture to this blog, including a sunset from the far away land of Bideford. She would like to point out that this photo has no filter…we’re not convinced. It screams X-Pro 11.
Chloe is a keen cloud photographer and invites everyone to try and make shapes out of her work. This Westward Ho! Snap feels like the end of the world and is shaped nicely by said clouds.
Tom loves rock-pooling and can often be spotted after work, net and bucket in handoff to check out the local shrimp game. He usually takes a camera, in order to snap stunning coastal pictures. He likes to picture Lundy, where he dreams of going crabbing one day.
Alex found a beautiful spot in Braunton Burrows recently, and even managed to capture some dementors that were passing through. The vibrant colours of Croyde at sunset includes an eclectic mix of reds, oranges and yellows.
So here we are, just a bunch of sunset, sunrise, bridge, cloud and rock-pooling enthusiasts, trying to get a few likes on the ‘gram. Which is your favourite snap?!
